panels. Roofs are made using tongue & groove weatherboard. Roofs on a 40m x 50mm frame. The standard roofing
is polyester based felt, strapped down with roofing strips.
Floors are also 19mm tongue & groove boards on a 75mm x 50mm pressure treated

with a base coat of Butinox No 1 wood stain. You will need to
re-treat the building as soon as possible after delivery.
Prices include VAT, delivery within a 30-mile radius of Errol and
erection onto a suitably level site. A charge of £2 per mile is
made on longer deliveries, for each mile over the 30-mile limit.
For those of you who prefer to uplift the building from the workshop
and erect it yourself, a discount of 10% is offered. There is no discount
on 'delivery only' as labour-time saved is negligible.
The eaves height of all sheds is always 5'10" (this is the low
side in a pent shed). The apex (or high side in a pent shed) varies
according to the size of shed you choose. Please ask if you require
more information. The eaves height is from the floor of the building
and does not include blocks and bearers. Blocks are approx 4" high
and bearers approx 3". Blocks and bearers are supplied with the
shed.

As
already mentioned, sheds up to 7' long come with 1 fixed window as standard
and sheds 8' long and over have 2 fixed windows as standard.
On the 19mm thick sheds, roofs are also tongue and groove boards
on a 40mm x 50mm frame and covered with a polyester based roofing
felt, strapped down with roofing strips. Floors are 19mm thick tongue and groove boards on
a 75mm x 50mm pressure treated frame. Framing for wall panels is 40mm x
50 mm up to and including a 10' x 8' sized shed and thereafter 40mm x
75mm. If in any doubt about the framing sizes please ask. Eaves
height of the buildings is again 5'10" and the height to the apex
(or high side on a pent) varies.
All exposed timbers are treated with a base coat of Butinox No 1wood
stain and all exposed ironmongery is galvanised.
NB: Please note that apex sheds have a small overhang - 3" on
the gable ends and 2" on each side wall. Therefore an 8' x 6' shed
would require an area 8'6" x 6'4" in order to accommodate the
roof size. This may be important if you are attempting to fit a shed into
a particular area which is walled or fenced on all sides.
Delivery/uplift details remain the same for heavy duty sheds and a
clear, level site is essential. |
| SECTIONAL
TIMBER GARAGES |
|
|
Constructed
in 19mm thick tongue and groove timber.
Garages
comprise double barn-style doors as standard, 2 fixed window panes,

Framing for garages is 75mm x 38mm pressure treated. All other timber
is 19mm thick tongue and groove. Standard roofing is a polyester based
roofing felt. As with sheds, ironmongery is galvanised and
the building is treated externally with a base coat of Butinox wood preservative. You will need to retreat the building as soon
as possible after delivery. Framing for double garages is 100mm x 50mm.
16' x 9' (4.8m x 2.7m) - £1560.00/16' x 10' (4.8m x 3m) - £1670.00/
18' x 9' (5.4m x 2.7m) - £1730.00/18' x 10' (5.4m x 3m) - £1820.00/

Double barn doors are included. A personnel door on the side is £45.00
extra.
Please note that the best base for a timber garage is a concrete

| FAQs |
FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS:
If
you can't find the answer here, just give us a call - 01821 642
713
.WHAT
DO WE MEAN BY A LEVEL SITE?
a) First peg out the area in the garden where you want your building to
go.b) Make sure it is the same size as you expect the building
to be.c) Take a piece of timber and lay it across the width
of the area.d) Place your spirit level on top of the timber
and take your reading: remember that the bubble should be in the middle
of the window.e) Repeat this process in order to obtain a reading
from front to back of the area and also across the diagonals.
f)
If the spirit level shows the site to be unlevel, then dig it over again,
levelling as you go and repeat from stage a).
It is necessary
that any difference in the level should not be more than 4", which
is the width of a concrete block.g) If you have done your best
to level the site and still have problems, please phone the workshop for
advice.
HOW
OFTEN DO I NEED TO RE-TREAT THE BUILDING?
Your building leaves the workshop with a base
coat of Butinox. You should re-treat the building as soon as
possible following delivery. Thereafter, please follow the manufacturer's
guidelines, which can be found on the tin.
WHAT
SHOULD I DO ABOUT CONDENSATION WITHIN THE BUILDING?
Some
buildings may suffer from condensation, especially if you are using them
to house animals, or if they comprise a lot of glass. In order to avoid
this please ensure that your building is adequately aired, particularly
in the winter months when it will not be used to the same extent.
WHY IS MY FELT WRINKLY?
Firstly, felt,
although manmade, responds to climate change in the same fashion as wood:
it expands and contracts. Therefore, you will sometimes notice wrinkles
and changes in the lie of the felt. This does not affect the life of the
felt.
WHY IS MY DOOR STICKING?
Wood is a
natural product and expands and contracts in relation to climate change.
Therefore, during very wet weather the timber will absorb moisture and
expand making the door difficult to close, this may be because it has
been cut a little too tight during production. This is not insurmountable.
If within your guarantee time, please call us and we shall be happy to
rectify this for you. Outwith your guarantee time, please just plane a
little timber from the side of the door and it should close without a
problem. In order to prevent shrinkage during hot weather, please ensure
you treat the building regularly getting the brush into all the nooks
and crannies.
Please note that the door may also stick if a
corner of the building has dropped. This happens when the original site
has not been properly levelled prior to delivery.
WHAT SHOULD I USE TO TREAT THE INSIDE OF THE BUILDING?
You
may wish to use the same as is used externally, Butinox. However, if you want to use varnish, please use a clear preservative
first and then a vapour-permeable varnish on top, such as Butinox No 4,
available from most good decorating outlets.
